Frequently Asked Questions

8 FAQs
What is the admission process and eligibility criteria?
Admissions typically open in the spring for the upcoming academic year. Eligibility is based on age, previous academic records, and often involves submission of documents like birth certificate, transfer certificate (if applicable), and residence proof. Specific details and forms are usually available at the school office or through local education department notifications.
What is the school's fee structure?
As a government school, the fee structure is highly subsidized and nominal. It covers basic tuition, with minimal charges for activities. Exact fees can vary by class/grade and are significantly lower than private schools. For the most accurate and current fee details, contacting the school administration directly is recommended.
What are the school timings and academic calendar?
Standard school timings are usually from 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM or 3:00 PM. The academic calendar follows the state education board's schedule, with summer vacations (April-June), Diwali break, and winter break. The exact timings and holiday list are provided at the start of the session.
What boards and curriculum does the school follow?
The school follows the curriculum prescribed by the respective State Education Board (e.g., Delhi Board of School Education, MP Board, etc.) for secondary education. The medium of instruction is typically Hindi and/or English, focusing on board exam preparation for classes 10th and 12th.
What facilities are available (library, labs, sports)?
Facilities include basic classrooms, a library, and science labs as mandated by the board. Sports facilities often include a playground for cricket, football, and athletics. The extent and modernisation of these facilities can vary. It's best to visit the school to see the available infrastructure firsthand.
Does the school provide transportation?
Government schools often do not provide official school bus transportation. Students typically commute via public transport, private arrangements, or walking. Some schools may have a van/bus service operated privately by local vendors, but it is not directly managed by the school administration.
What is the student-teacher ratio?
The student-teacher ratio tends to be higher than in private schools, often around 40:1 or more, depending on class strength and teacher availability. This is a common characteristic of many government schools due to high demand and resource constraints.
Are there any extracurricular activities or clubs?
The school encourages participation in inter-school competitions, national celebrations, and cultural events. Clubs for science, literature, or sports may exist, but their activity level depends on teacher initiative and resources. The primary focus remains on academic curriculum and board exam preparation.
