Frequently Asked Questions

6 FAQs
What is the admission process and eligibility criteria?
Admissions typically follow the state government's guidelines, often based on proximity to the school (neighborhood criteria) and availability of seats. Parents usually need to submit an application form along with the child's birth certificate, previous school records (if applicable), and proof of residence during the designated admission period.
What is the school's curriculum and board affiliation?
The school follows the state board curriculum (e.g., State Board of Secondary Education). The syllabus is designed to meet state educational standards and prepares students for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent board examinations at the end of Class X.
What facilities are available for students?
The school provides standard facilities including classrooms, a library, science labs, and a playground for sports. Some schools may have computer labs. The specific range of facilities can vary, and parents are encouraged to visit the school for a detailed overview.
What is the school timing and academic calendar?
School typically runs in a single shift, often from morning to early afternoon (e.g., 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM). The academic year generally starts in June and follows the state government's holiday schedule, including summer, Diwali, and other regional vacations.
Does the school offer transportation and mid-day meals?
The school usually does not provide its own transportation; students commute independently or via public transport. However, as a government school, it is part of the central/state government's Mid-Day Meal Scheme, providing a nutritious lunch to all students free of cost.
What co-curricular activities are offered?
The school encourages participation in activities like sports (athletics, kabaddi, kho-kho, etc.), cultural events, drawing competitions, and science exhibitions. There may also be clubs or societies for scouts/guides, NCC, or eco-clubs, depending on availability.
