The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the rescheduling of its 4th National Summit on “Facilitating School-to-Work Transition.” The summit, aimed at strengthening the connection between school education, skill development and future employment opportunities, will now be held on 26 and 27 October 2026.

The summit was earlier scheduled to take place on 23 and 24 September 2026. According to the revised schedule, the event will be organised at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), 15 Janpath Road, Windsor Place, New Delhi.

Focus of the National Summit

The CBSE National Summit on School-to-Work Transition focuses on creating stronger pathways for students from formal education to the world of work. The initiative is particularly relevant in the context of the growing importance of skill-based education, vocational learning, career awareness and industry exposure.

The summit is expected to provide a platform for educators, school leaders, policymakers, industry representatives and other stakeholders to discuss strategies that can help students develop the knowledge and skills required for future careers.

Why the Summit Is Important ?

The transition from school to employment is an important stage in a student's educational journey. With the changing nature of jobs and increasing demand for practical and employability skills, schools are playing an increasingly important role in preparing students for life beyond the classroom.

Through discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions, the summit aims to explore ways of:

  • Strengthening vocational and skill education in schools
  • Improving career guidance and counselling
  • Connecting schools with industry and the workplace
  • Promoting experiential and practical learning
  • Developing employability and 21st-century skills among students
  • Creating better opportunities for students to understand different career pathways

Revised Dates and Registration

As per the revised schedule, the 4th National Summit on “Facilitating School-to-Work Transition” will be conducted on 26–27 October 2026.

Participants who have already registered for the summit do not need to register again, as their existing registration will remain valid. For those who have not yet registered, the registration window has been reopened, with the new deadline set for 15 September 2026.

A Step Towards Future-Ready Education

The rescheduled summit reflects CBSE's continued emphasis on making school education more skill-oriented, career-focused and aligned with the changing needs of the workplace.

As education moves beyond traditional academic learning, initiatives that bring schools, students, educators and industry closer together can play a significant role in helping young people make informed career choices and develop the skills needed for successful employment and lifelong learning.
