The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to begin the process of submitting the List of Candidates (LOC) for the 2027 Board Examinations soon. The LOC process is an important pre-examination activity through which CBSE-affiliated schools submit details of eligible students appearing for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations.

For the 2026 examinations, CBSE issued its prior intimation for LOC submission on July 30, 2025, followed by the detailed LOC circular on August 27, 2025. This suggests that schools should remain prepared for the corresponding 2027 notification and schedule.

What is the LOC?

The List of Candidates (LOC) contains important information about students being sponsored by schools for the CBSE Board Examinations. Schools are responsible for submitting accurate student and subject details to CBSE.

The information generally includes:

  • Student's full name
  • Date of birth
  • Parent/guardian details
  • Gender and category
  • Subjects offered
  • Photograph and other required details
  • APAAR ID, where applicable

CBSE has previously instructed schools to carefully verify student data and subject combinations before submitting the LOC.

Class 10 and Class 12 Students to Be Included

The LOC process applies to students appearing for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations. Schools are expected to verify their records and ensure that all eligible candidates are correctly included.

The submission is particularly important because errors in names, subjects, dates of birth or other candidate information can create problems during subsequent examination-related processes.

Schools Advised to Keep Data Ready

While the official 2027 LOC dates have not yet been announced in the CBSE notices currently available, schools can start checking their student records and subject combinations in preparation for the upcoming process.

CBSE's Pariksha Sangam portal includes a dedicated “LOC Class X & XII” section under pre-examination activities.

What Students and Parents Should Check

Students of Classes 10 and 12 should coordinate with their schools and verify that:

Their name is correctly recorded in school records.

Their date of birth is accurate.

Parent/guardian names are correctly spelled.

The subjects selected for the Board Examination are correct.

Required student identification details are updated.

Students and parents should wait for their school's official communication regarding the exact verification procedure and deadlines.

CBSE Board Exams 2027: What Next?

CBSE is expected to issue the official LOC notification and detailed schedule on its website before the submission window begins. Schools will then complete the online process within the prescribed deadline.

Students should therefore avoid relying on unofficial dates circulating on social media and follow notifications issued by CBSE and their respective schools.
