The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made more than 845 curriculum-aligned virtual labs and digital learning resources available to students through the DIKSHA platform.

These virtual labs are designed to make learning more interactive, practical and engaging, especially in subjects such as Science and Mathematics. Students can use digital simulations to explore experiments, observe processes and understand difficult concepts that may otherwise be challenging to demonstrate in a regular classroom.

The initiative is expected to benefit students across CBSE-affiliated schools by providing them with greater access to practical learning resources, including those who may have limited access to fully equipped laboratories. Teachers can also use these resources to supplement classroom lessons and encourage students to learn through exploration and experimentation.

The move is in line with the broader emphasis on technology-enabled and experiential learning under the National Education Policy (NEP). By combining traditional classroom teaching with digital tools, CBSE aims to help students develop a stronger conceptual understanding while making learning more accessible and engaging.

With the availability of these virtual labs on DIKSHA, students can continue exploring important concepts beyond the classroom and use technology to strengthen their practical and problem-solving skills.

CBSE has emphasized that virtual labs serve as a supplement to classroom instruction and practical experiments rather than a substitute for physical laboratories. These digital tools offer learners extra avenues for interactive conceptual exploration.
