The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the process for schools to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations for the academic session 2026–27. The notification was issued on September 21, 2026, and the online submission process began on September 24, 2026.

The LOC is an important record containing details of students who are eligible to appear for the Board Examinations. CBSE has directed affiliated schools to submit accurate information about candidates through the prescribed online system. Only students whose names are included in the submitted LOC will be eligible to appear for the corresponding Board Examinations.

Details to Be Submitted

Schools are required to carefully verify students’ information before submitting the LOC. The details include the student’s name, date of birth, gender, category, parents’ or guardians’ names, subjects, photograph and other required information. Schools have also been advised to ensure that subject combinations and personal details are entered correctly.

Important Dates

For the main examinations, schools can submit the LOC without a late fee from September 24 to October 21, 2026. A late-submission window is available from October 22 to October 30, 2026, subject to the prescribed late fee. A correction window is scheduled for November 2 to November 4, 2026.

Examination Fees

For students in India, the examination fee is ₹1,600 for five subjects. An additional ₹320 is payable for each extra subject. For Class 12 students, a practical examination fee of ₹160 per practical subject is applicable. A ₹2,000 late fee per candidate, in addition to the regular examination fee, is applicable during the late-submission period.

CBSE has stressed the importance of submitting correct and complete information. Schools, students and parents should carefully check spellings, dates of birth, subjects and other details before the final submission to avoid problems later.

The LOC process marks an important step in preparations for the CBSE Board Examinations 2027, with Class 10 and Class 12 students expected to appear in the examinations during the 2026–27 academic cycle.
