The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced that nearly 44,000 students have submitted applications for verification and re-evaluation of their board exam answer sheets. As of Wednesday noon, the online portal had processed a total of 43,980 applications.
According to a post on X by the CBSE, the portal accepted 4,924 applications for verification and 39,056 applications for re-evaluation, making up the total of 43,980. The board noted that as of 9:30 am on Wednesday, around 40,000 students had successfully completed the application process without any issues.
The CBSE clarified that students can use payment gateways from the State Bank of India (SBI), Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Indian Bank to pay the required fees. Importantly, students do not need to hold an account with these banks to complete the transaction. Payment options include UPI, net banking, credit cards, and debit cards through the designated gateways.
The board urged students to rely only on official CBSE communications for accurate information regarding the process. The portal was launched after a delay, as the CBSE had earlier indicated that the application window for verification and re-evaluation would open around May 29.
This development follows concerns raised by some students and parents about the board's on-screen marking (OSM) system. The CBSE has faced criticism over technical glitches, payment failures, and access-related issues during the verification and re-evaluation process.
The online portal was made available on Tuesday specifically for students dissatisfied with their Class-12 board exam evaluation. According to the board, the facility is only accessible to students who have already obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer books.
