The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the CSIR NET Answer Key for the June 2026 session on August 16, 2026. The answer key is available on the official website, csirnet.nta.nic.in, for candidates who appeared for the Joint CSIR UGC NET examination held on July 17 and 18, 2026.
Along with the answer key, NTA has also published the question paper and the recorded response sheets for each candidate. This allows aspirants to cross-check their answers and estimate their probable scores before the final results are announced. The provisional answer key has been released separately for all five subjects: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences.
Candidates who wish to challenge any answer can do so by paying a fee of Rs 200 per question. The challenge window is open from August 16 to August 18, 2026, until 11:00 PM. All objections must be submitted through the official portal only, and no other mode of submission will be accepted.
To download the answer key,
- candidates need to visit csirnet.nta.nic.in and click on the link for CSIR NET Answer Key 2026.
- They will be redirected to a login window where they must enter their Application Number and Date of Birth or Password.
- After logging in, the provisional answer key, question paper, and response sheet will be displayed.
- Candidates are advised to download and save all PDFs for their specific subject for future reference.
Understanding the marking scheme is essential for calculating probable scores. According to the official details, correct answers are awarded 2 marks based on the paper (Part A, B, or C). A negative marking of 0.5 marks applies for incorrect answers, while no marks are deducted for unattempted questions. Candidates can match their responses with the answer key and apply this scheme to estimate their results.
The final CSIR NET result is expected to be announced in the third week of August 2026. Candidates are encouraged to review the answer key carefully and submit any challenges before the deadline. For the latest updates, candidates should regularly check the official website.
