IIT Kanpur’s cybersecurity hub, C3iHub, has partnered with Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University (DBRAU), Agra, and the Vivekanand Incubation Foundation (VIF) to launch a vocational programme in cybersecurity. The initiative aims to reach more than 3 lakh students across 570-plus affiliated colleges.
The programme will be delivered entirely online and in Hindi, making cybersecurity education more accessible, especially to students in semi-urban and rural areas. IIT Kanpur’s C3iHub will design and deliver the curriculum, while VIF will provide the technical and administrative infrastructure required to run the programme at scale.
The course will cover important topics such as cybercrime, cyber hygiene, identity theft, social-media threats, personal-data protection and online safety. Students will also get practical exposure through quizzes, workshops and virtual labs.
As part of the initiative, DBRAU will establish a Cybersecurity Counselling Cell to help students prevent and respond to cybercrime incidents. The programme aims to build stronger cybersecurity awareness and practical skills among a large student community.
