The National Testing Agency (NTA) has defended its answer key challenge system, stating that the process has been designed to ensure fairness and give all students an equal opportunity to raise objections.
The NTA said students are provided with a defined window to review the provisional answer key and challenge answers they believe are incorrect. According to the agency, the system follows a standardised procedure so that every candidate gets the same opportunity to submit objections.
The agency has also rejected concerns that the answer key challenge process is too expensive for students. It maintained that the fee associated with raising challenges is part of the system designed to manage and scrutinise objections in an organised manner.
The clarification comes amid concerns raised by students and others over the cost of challenging answers. The NTA has reiterated that the system aims to balance accessibility with an efficient process for examining objections before the final results are prepared.
The agency said its priority remains maintaining transparency, fairness and credibility in examinations conducted for lakhs of students across the country.
