Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to participate in the Pune edition of the party's student outreach initiative, 'Chhatron Ki Goonj', on August 22. The announcement was made by Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Harshwardhan Sapkal during a press briefing at the Congress Bhavan in Pune.

The campaign, which was launched by Gandhi in Kota, Rajasthan, on June 17, aims to highlight concerns within the education sector and address problems faced by students across the country. Kota is widely recognized as a major coaching hub for competitive exam aspirants.

According to Sapkal, the Pune event will be the fourth segment of the outreach programme. Gandhi has previously addressed students in Dehradun on July 17 and in Prayagraj on August 8. The upcoming session in Pune will specifically focus on issues that are women-centric, Sapkal added.

The party has not yet finalized the venue for the Pune event. Further details regarding the location and schedule are expected to be announced closer to the date.

The 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' campaign is part of the Congress party's broader efforts to engage with the student community and address their grievances. The initiative has been structured as a series of interactive sessions, allowing students to voice their concerns directly to the party leadership.

Rahul Gandhi's participation in these sessions underscores the party's focus on education and youth-related issues. The campaign is seen as a platform to discuss policy matters affecting students, including examination reforms, fee structures, and employment opportunities.

Students and local Congress workers in Pune are expected to attend the event in large numbers. The party is likely to use the occasion to outline its vision for education and student welfare ahead of upcoming elections.

As the campaign progresses, more such events are anticipated in other parts of the country. The Congress leadership has indicated that the outreach will continue, with the aim of reaching out to students across various states.
