A 19-year-old ethical hacker who previously exposed vulnerabilities in the CBSE Online Student Management (OSM) system has gained access to Anthropic's Cyber Verification Program (CVP). The development was reported on Sunday, 14 June, 2026.
Nisarga Adhikary shared an email from Anthropic on social media, writing simply, "Thank you, Anthropic." The email confirmed his acceptance into the programme, which is designed for verified security professionals.
Anthropic's CVP allows approved participants to bypass certain safety guardrails on the company's Opus models. This access is granted specifically for legitimate cybersecurity tasks, including vulnerability exploitation and other security research activities.
The hacker first gained attention after identifying and disclosing security flaws in CBSE's OSM system, which handles student data and administrative functions for the board. Those findings prompted discussions about data security in educational platforms.
Adhikary's acceptance into the programme marks a significant step for a young ethical hacker. The CVP is typically reserved for experienced security researchers who can demonstrate responsible disclosure practices.
Anthropic, an artificial intelligence safety company, launched the Cyber Verification Program to enable security experts to test AI models for vulnerabilities without violating usage policies. Participants must go through a verification process before gaining access.
The CBSE has not issued a public statement regarding Adhikary's acceptance into the programme. However, the board previously acknowledged the OSM system flaws and worked on fixes following responsible disclosure.
For students and parents using CBSE's digital platforms, this development underscores the importance of ethical hacking in identifying and fixing security gaps before they can be exploited maliciously.
