The CBSE has introduced a new Two Board Examination policy for Class X, allowing students to improve their scores in up to three subjects during a second session in May 2026. This initiative, aligned with NEP 2020, is open to students who appeared in at least three subjects during the first exam or were placed in the "Compartment" category. Schools must submit the List of Candidates (LOC) starting March 18, 2026. Notably, there is no option to improve internal assessment marks, and the syllabus remains identical to the first examination. Because exam centers will be limited, the board has cautioned that students may be assigned venues further from their homes.
